Documents Required for Account Opening
Simply upload photos or scanned copies of the required documents if you’re applying online for a Personal or Joint-Alternate Account.

After submitting your application, you may receive a follow up email or SMS if additional or acceptable document is required.

Singaporean/ Permanent Resident
- Using Singpass

Proof of Residential Address (if address used differs from Myinfo)
- Provide any one of the following documents that shows your current residential address
- Front and back of NRIC or
- Local utility bill or
- Telecommunication bill or
- Local bank / credit card statement
- Name and address should match that on your application form.
- Document must be dated within 3 months before the date of application.
Note:
- Residential address must be valid. (P.O. Box, Care-of, Office and School address are not acceptable)
- Tenancy agreement is not acceptable proof of residential address.

Proof of Tax Residency (if declared tax residency is not Singapore)

- In-Principle Approval (IPA) issued by Ministry of Manpower# or
- In-Principle Approval (IPA) from ICA# or
- Certification letter from school*
- Name and Foreign Identification Number (FIN)+ details on document should match that on your application form.
- Document must be dated within 3 months before the date of application.
- Signatures and authority stamps should be captured clearly, if applicable.
Note:
- #IPA can only be accepted as either Proof of employment, study, or residence in Singapore or Proof of residential address. It cannot be used for both.
- *Only for student. Letter is restricted to official letter from educational institutions or schools under the purview of Council for Private Education or Ministry of Education.

+Foreign Identification Number or FIN is a unique identification numbers issued by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and government agencies to foreigners who are working, studying, or residing in Singapore. It can be found on your employment pass card or In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter. FIN starts with a prefix F, G, or M followed by 7 digits and a letter (eg. M1234567B).
Proof of Residential Address
- Provide any one of the following documents that shows your current residential address:

- Certification letter from school or
- Certificate of stamp duty or
- Singapore utility/ telecommunication bill or
- Singapore bank statement/ credit card statement or

Documents Submissions Dos and Don'ts
1. Submit documents that match your application form
Tip: Ensure that your document is valid. Review details (e.g. expiry dates, visibility of details) before you submit your application.
2. Avoid blurring/blocking document details
Tip: Use natural light (instead of flash mode on your camera) or position your document where reflection does not blur any part of the image.
3. Prevent details of documents from being cropped out
Tip: Frame your image by leaving at least 1 cm gap on each side of the document when you photograph it digitally.
4. Submit complete identity document
Tip: Capture both the profile picture and all printed details. Do not block or crop out any of the details.
5. Submit images that are in focus
Tip: When using mobile phone, tap the screen to correct the camera’s focus before taking the picture.
6. Avoid skewed distortions of your image
Tip: Ensure your phone is parallel to your document when taking the picture. Try placing your document against a white piece of paper and use it as a parallel frame.

- Joint-Alternate My Account with your child
If you receive an email request to provide additional supporting documents, log on to Application Status Portal to upload the additional requested documents.
Step 1
Log on to Application Status Portal.
Step 2
Choose your Identification type, and enter your NRIC/ Malaysian IC/ Passport number and Email address used in your application.
Step 3
Enter the 6 digit Email OTP sent to your email address used in the application.
Step 4
Under Recently submitted applications, find the application and tap on Upload documents.
Step 5
Enter the 6 digit SMS OTP sent to your mobile number used in the application.
Step 6
Upload all required documents and tap Next.
Step 7
Your document(s) are successfully uploaded. Tap Done to return to main page.
- If you receive a SMS request to provide additional supporting documents, please send the updates to our functional mailbox within 3 days.
- Please indicate last 4 characters of your NRIC / Passport in email subject e.g “567A”

- If you are a new DBS / POSB customer, you can open your personal My Account and Multiplier Account via the digibank mobile app. For further assistance, simply drop us a note and our service team will contact you at your preferred date and time.
- *Residential Address: A non-commercial address where the customer resides. An overseas residential address can used to apply for an account if a Singapore address is unavailable at that point. Letter issued by government of other public bodies regulated for AML practices or a letter from regulated insurance companies in a FATF member country may be uploaded as proof. However, customers are required to update to Singapore address via digibank once available.
- For Online Personal or Joint-Alternate Account Application, please ensure that the proof of residential address uploaded for each applicant indicates their address and issue date clearly.
- For Joint-Alternate account application, both applicant’s proof of addresses are required.
- For proof of mobile number ownership (if applicable), please upload either a local telecommunication bill/confirmation letter or mobile service agreement (signed acceptance page).
