2013 World Car of the Year Finalists Announced
The countdown has begun in preparation for the 2013 World Car Awards winners' press conference hosted by the New York International Auto Show and Bridgestone Corporation on Thursday, March 28, 2013. The 2013 World Car of the Year, World Performance Car, World Green Car and World Car Design of the Year will all be declared at this time.
The top three finalists in all award categories will be announced at the Geneva International Motor Show on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013.

Ford has debuted the all-new Fusion at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. Though this car is intended for the Americas only, buried in the press kit is an interesting tidbit: "This car will appear in Ford showrooms in North America and South America later this year.
Mondeo will be introduced next year in Asia and Europe."
Thanks to Ford's global product strategy, the car you see on these pages will very well be basis for the all-new Mondeo which in turn, will finally come to Asia and most likely, the Philippines. Though 2013 is still a full year away, let's look at the basis for Ford's return to the executive sedan market in the Philippines (cross your fingers).

Volvo Joins Australian V8 Supercars Championship
Volvo Car Group (Volvo Cars) announces it will have an official Volvo Polestar Racing team on the grid in the V8 Supercars Championship in 2014 and race the Volvo S60.
"I'm delighted to announce Volvos return to motorsport in Australia. Volvo has a rich motorsport heritage in this country, including winning Australia's most famous race, the Bathurst 1000, 15 years ago this coming October. As the first luxury car brand to enter an official factory team in the V8 Supercars Championship, we're determined to add to this heritage, while strengthening the presence of the S60 model line and the Volvo brand here in Australia," said Matt Braid, Volvo Car Australia Managing Director.

Jason Choachuy (Car No. 37) of Toyota Balintawak dominated Round 2 of the 2014 Toyota Vios Cup at the Clark International Speedway last Saturday, July 26 with a stunning back-to-back win in Race 3 and 4. With changing weather conditions in the days leading up to the race, everyone was expecting a wet weekend for all 28 Toyota Vios Cup Racers. The traffic situation on NLEX brought on by the Inglesia ni Cristo Centennial proved to be of little worry as thousands of speed freaks still filled up the grand stands to watch the action in the One-Make Race.
